Obtaining the capital to start and maintain a business is a critical, on-going challenge for many businesses and entrepreneurs. The SBDC provides a loan packet that assists in the development of a good loan package.

The Loan Packet is available free of charge from the SBDC Central Region. This packet contains invaluable information and forms. The result from using the packet is a high quality loan package that will assist your business in being qualified for funding.

Department of Defense SBIR/STTR Program
The Department of Defense (DoD) SBIR and STTR programs fund over $1/2 billion each year in early-stage R&D projects at small technology companies -- projects that serve a DoD need and have commercial applications.

Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE)
The Pollution Prevention Program in the Environmental Permits Center provides pollution prevention information and assistance to businesses.

Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED)

Maryland Economic Development Assistance Fund (MEDAF)

The Day Care Financial Programs - offer financing to operate day care facilities. Specifically, this program offers loan guarantees for construction, renovation, equipment and supplies purchases and working capital; provides financing for construction, renovation or acquisition of real property, fixtures or equipment; and makes loans to child care providers.

The Maryland Seafood and Aquaculture Loan Program - provides direct secured loans at below-market interest rates to finance real property and equipment to individuals or businesses involved in seafood processing or aquaculture.

The Challenge Investment Program - provides initial financing for small start-up companies to cover the cost of bringing a product to the market.

The Maryland Competitive Advantage Financing Fund (MCAFF) - provides loans, loan guarantees or interest subsidies to small businesses that are unable to obtain financing on reasonable terms from other sources.

The Maryland Small Business Development Financing Authority (MSBDFA)

The Meridian Management Group, Inc. - provides financing for small businesses and those owned by socially and economically disadvantaged persons.

Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)

The Neighborhood Business Development Program (NBDP) - provides flexible gap financing through loans to small businesses starting up or expanding in locally designated to revitalization areas throughout the State. For assistance, contact 410.209.5800.
