Overview:

As many organizations are trying to do more with less, they are faced with the decisions of what strategies to utilize to improve profitability.  This program will introduce leaders to the fundamentals of operations, helping them to develop a framework that can be applied within their organizations.  Participants will leave the course with a better insight into operations issues and an awareness of additional ways to drive business results through strategic operations.

Program Objective:

-Provides an understanding of operations management framework
-Provides an insight into the functions and practices of effective operations management
-Focuses on quality methodologies best practices, tools and models to develop and implement an effective operations management system

Facilitators:

Florence Amate is the President and CEO of the Laisar Management Group.  Laisar works with organizations in the active management of their resources, taking a fresh look at their goals, processes, trends, services and  the regulatory and organizational environment.  She has over 25 years of experience leading operational excellence within government agencies, non-profit organizations and corporations.  Her main consulting focus is on Performance Excellence Programs in the areas of Operations Strategy, Total Value Chain Management, Procurement & Logistics and Manufacturing. She is a specialist for the execution of operational programs with sustainable short-term effects on efficiency and quality improvement as well as cost reduction.  Her most recent experience prior to launching Laisar Management Group was working as an Area Operations Director for Pitney Bowes Management Services, a unit of Pitney Bowes, Inc. that provides a wide array of consulting and outsourcing services related to document management.  

Kelly Leonard is an associate of Laisar Management Group.  She is a Black Belt, Green Belt, and Lean certified professional who has driven key business improvement initiatives and organizational change to achieve growth and operational excellence with sustainable, measurable benefits for customers and businesses. Over the course of her eleven year tenure with GE Healthcare Financial Services, Kelly oversaw and administered organizational, professional development, new hire, and technical skills training curriculum for 15 locations containing 175 risk management personnel who managed $1 billion healthcare portfolio.  In addition to her work with Laisar Management, Ms. Leonard is a principal with Taylor-Leonard Corporation where she brings deep knowledge, experience in risk management, and regulatory compliance expertise to clients. She delivers tangible consulting solutions that produce measurable results designed to help small business owners focus on delivery of core products/services and assist small businesses in gaining access to high quality, cost effective business and legal consulting services on demand.
